As part of our continued commitment to innovation and development, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Global Logistics Director to lead and optimise our international logistics operations across our established global health and wellbeing business.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient, reliable and cost-effective movement of products across global markets — from suppliers and manufacturing partners through to warehouses, distribution centres, retail partners and ultimately customers.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of international logistics, supply chain planning, warehousing, freight, customs, inventory and third-party logistics (3PL) management. They will also be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, consumer-focused environment where service, quality, compliance and speed are critical.
Working cross-functionally with Procurement, Export, Commercial, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Customer Service teams, the Global Logistics Director will build a scalable logistics infrastructure capable of supporting continued international growth.
Responsibilities will include…
Global Logistics Strategy
- Develop and execute a global logistics strategy aligned with the company's growth plans and commercial objectives.
- Design a scalable logistics network across existing and future international markets.
- Continuously assess transportation routes, distribution models, warehouse locations and logistics partners to improve efficiency and resilience.
- Develop long-term logistics capabilities to support new product launches, market expansion and changing customer demand.
- Establish robust contingency and business continuity plans to mitigate supply chain and logistics disruption.
Transportation & Distribution
- Lead global inbound and outbound transportation across road, air, ocean and parcel networks.
- Optimise freight costs, transit times, service levels and carrier performance.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, couriers and logistics service providers.
- Establish appropriate transportation strategies for different markets, products and customer channels.
- Monitor delivery performance and proactively address service failures and bottlenecks.
Warehousing & 3PL Management
- Oversee relationships with global and regional 3PL and warehousing partners.
- Ensure warehouse operations consistently meet agreed service, cost, quality and inventory accuracy targets.
- Develop and manage logistics SLAs, KPIs and performance reviews.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement and network optimisation.
- Ensure warehousing capacity is aligned with forecast demand and business growth.
International Trade & Compliance
- Ensure logistics operations comply with relevant international trade, customs, import/export and transportation regulations.
- Partner closely with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure the movement and storage of health and wellbeing products meets applicable market requirements.
- Develop effective customs, duties, documentation and import/export processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce landed costs while maintaining compliance and service levels.
Cost & Performance Management
- Own the global logistics budget and actively manage logistics expenditure.
- Develop strategies to reduce freight, warehousing, handling and distribution costs.
- Establish clear logistics KPIs covering cost, service, delivery performance, inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Use data and analytics to identify trends, risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to the executive leadership team.
Supply Chain Collaboration
- Work closely with Demand Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing and Commercial teams to align logistics capacity with business requirements.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate logistics forecasting, budgeting and cost reporting.
- Partner with Customer Service teams to improve customer delivery performance.
- Support new product introductions and international market launches from a logistics perspective.
- Ensure logistics requirements are incorporated into wider supply chain and commercial planning.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, develop and mentor the global logistics team, building a high-performing and commercially focused function.
- Establish clear objectives, accountabilities and performance measures.
- Build strong relationships across the wider organisation and with external partners.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, collaboration and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Significant senior-level experience in global logistics, supply chain or distribution, ideally within a fast-growing consumer, health, wellness, FMCG, retail, nutrition, beauty or pharmaceutical-related environment.
- Proven experience managing international logistics operations across multiple markets.
- Strong experience working with 3PLs, freight forwarders, carriers and distribution partners.
- Demonstrable experience delivering logistics cost reductions and operational improvements.
- Experience managing international freight, customs, import/export and distribution.
- Experience scaling logistics operations to support significant business growth.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget ownership and cost modelling.
