Reception Teacher - Greenwich
A well-resourced primary school in Greenwich is seeking a creative and nurturing Reception Teacher to join the Early Years team from January 2026. The Reception Teacher will plan a play-based, evidence-informed curriculum that fosters communication, personal development and early number sense. The Reception Teacher will create stimulating indoor and outdoor environments, lead formative assessment practices and support smooth transitions into Year 1.

Greenwich’s setting provides strong EYFS leadership, excellent resources and a collaborative approach to professional development. The Reception Teacher will be invited to induction workshops and planning meetings ahead of January 2026, and will work with colleagues to align Reception provision with whole-school priorities from January 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a rich EYFS curriculum that develops language, curiosity and independence.
- Use high-quality observations to inform next steps and maintain learning journeys.
- Lead transition planning into Year 1 and liaise closely with parents to support each child’s needs.
- Work collaboratively with TAs and the EYFS lead to refine continuous provision and assessment.
- Promote safeguarding and wellbeing across the Reception setting.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with strong Reception/EYFS experience and confident assessment practice.
- Knowledgeable about Early Learning Goals, observation techniques and play-led pedagogy.
- Warm, organised and skilled at building relationships with families and colleagues in Greenwich.
- Ready to begin in January 2026 and to attend induction sessions in the weeks before January 2026.
