Location: Hammersmith Role: Design and Technology Teacher (Full-Time, Permanent)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3-4, covering various specialisms with an emphasis on innovation.
  • Inspire students to develop a deep understanding of design processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques, encouraging innovative solutions within Design and Technology .
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and enhance the Design and Technology curriculum, integrating new technologies and approaches.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress in Design and Technology , focusing on the development of innovative design solutions.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of workshop equipment and resources, encouraging experimentation and innovative use within Design and Technology .

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Design and Technology , Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience 1 teaching Design and Technology at secondary level (ECTs welcome to apply), with a demonstrated interest in innovative design practices. 
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to Design and Technology , with an awareness of emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on safety in the Design and Technology workshop and the ability to encourage innovative thinking.
  • A passion for fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and an innovative mindset through Design and Technology .
