Junior Sous Chef
Job Title: Junior Sous Chef
Location: Cicoria by Angela Hartnett, Royal Opera House, London
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: £16-£20 per hour (inclusive of service charge, based on experience)
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
- Lead and inspire the team during service, maintaining calm and quality under pressure
- Take responsibility for maintaining high standards across all sections
- Ensure dishes are consistently prepared and presented to spec
- Assist with rota management, stock control, and ordering
- Train and mentor junior team members to promote growth and efficiency
- Uphold food hygiene, safety, and allergen standards at all times
- Contribute to menu development, bringing ideas and creativity to seasonal specials
- Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Confidence in leading a section and supporting the wider kitchen team
- A strong knowledge of Italian cuisine is highly desirable
- Passion for high-quality, seasonal ingredients and modern cooking techniques
- A team player with excellent communication and leadership skills
- Committed to maintaining a clean, organised, and disciplined kitchen environment
