Public Cloud - Product Manager (SVP)
The Cloud Product Manager is responsible for defining product strategy , working across Citi to engage applications teams to identity the need for new cloud products and services. The product manager will be responsible for cloud product service lifecycle, and new feature and product roadmaps. The Cloud Product Manager will be instrumental in managing all products from design to implementation to ongoing performance monitoring according to business need and ensure that Citi makes appropriate strategic choices in onboarding, managing, and exiting of vendors from the product portfolio. The role requires a talented technologist with experience or working directly with engineering teams to delivery cloud services and products in an iterative, agile way.
Objectives of this role
Drive the product- and business-planning processes for cross-functional teams (central cloud engineering and application teams)
Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships in the business to drive the curation of services in cloud
Work with application teams to build roadmap for each curated cloud service, manage priority of work into the engineering teams aligned to delivering a curated cloud service
Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate product team approach to delivering them
Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments
Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans
Create a cohesive delivery function in Citi by joining application teams with central cloud engineering teams and ensuring OKRs are established, executed and measured
Be a product evangelist, to drive scaled adoption of released products across Citi
Responsibilities
Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product research, Cloud competitor analysis, service / pattern requirements and define product roadmap.
Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teams
Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, features required, version OKRs for the curated service.
Analyze cross business usage potential and define product objectives for effective marketing communications of service
Work with engineering teams to develop curated services and an enterprise cloud foundation
Work with application teams to understand usage, requirements, future requirements and build back log of feature requests.
To work with cloud service providers to request features enhancements, understand future releases and roadmaps
Required skills and qualifications
5 years + / Strong experience in a dynamic product management role.
Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.
High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams.
5 years + experience of delivering products that leverage cloud services.
Proven software delivery experience, working with development teams to drive iterative / continuous deployments.
Strong technical understanding of software delivery, cloud native services, providers’ and tools.
Demonstrable experience in helping to identify, drive, and facilitate external partnerships that accelerate product usage, effectiveness, and deepen customer adoption and overall success.
Extensive track record leading product and engineering teams.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills
Curious, problem solving leadership style, demonstrating
Able to develop, scale, and continuously cultivate a strong product culture and team, energizing their team members while also holding them accountable to set goals.
Align strategy with product performance metrics (KPIs) that reflect capacity, utilization, efficiency, uptime,
Preferred skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in product design or engineering.
Previous experience in software and web development.
Understanding of value stream mapping and how to increase productivity of development teams.
Track record of working in financial services or other regulated industries, specifically regarding the leveraging of cloud services.
Solid understanding of prioritization methodologies. how to break work down and delivery using a lean approach working on close collaboration with Agile delivery mangers.
