Rate: £28 – £34 per hour
About the role:
The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist to join our Planned Care (Surgery) team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines within the Emergency and Integrated Care Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to a sub-speciality, reviewing prescriptions, and monitoring the therapeutic use of medicines. You will play a key role in patient education, discharge planning, and promoting professional standards within the dispensary.
Key Responsibilities:
You will provide clinical pharmacy services to a sub-speciality within the Emergency and Integrated Care Division. You will review prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and potential issues. You will clinically screen and supply medicines for inpatient use and discharge. You will monitor and review the therapeutic use of medicines. You will ensure effective treatment outcomes with medicines. You will monitor patients for adverse effects of their medicines. You will educate patients on the purpose of their medicines and address practical issues. You will support patient discharge planning with respect to medication. You will ensure the safe, clinically effective, and cost-effective use of medicines. You will demonstrate professional accountability to patients. You will support the provision of a safe and legal dispensing service in the Dispensary as required. You will promote professional standards in the dispensary by acting as a role model to other pharmacists and technicians.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience/Knowledge:
- Up to date GPhC registration.
- Master’s degree in pharmacy or equivalent.
- Proven hospital experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of medication management and patient care.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
