Delivery Operations Manager
About the role
As Delivery Operations Manager, you will sit within the Portfolio function, working closely with the Head of Portfolio to ensure our Delivery and Engagement teams have the processes, tools and operational support they need to deliver consistently.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of operational processes, governance and reporting across the portfolio. You will oversee the day-to-day management of our Delivery Coordinator team, maintain the systems and assets that underpin successful delivery, and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively. Your work will help create a consistent experience for both our customers and consultants by ensuring the function runs smoothly, efficiently and reliably.
Key responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operational execution of the Portfolio function, ensuring governance processes are followed consistently and quality standards are maintained across the Delivery and Engagement teams.
Support customer mobilisations by coordinating operational activities and identifying relationship or delivery risks early, helping projects get off to a strong start.
Deliver high-quality administration of Statements of Work and associated commercial documentation, maintaining accuracy while monitoring key operational measures such as margins and processing times.
Maintain accurate portfolio reporting and governance data, ensuring reporting cycles are completed on time and provide meaningful insight into portfolio health.
Manage Delivery Coordinator capacity, balancing workloads, identifying resourcing pressures before they become issues, and supporting the team's ongoing effectiveness.
Oversee the onboarding of new Delivery Coordinators, ensuring they quickly become confident in the team's processes, tooling and ways of working.
Implement and maintain operational processes, continually ensuring they remain practical, consistent and fit for purpose.
Drive adoption of agreed operational tools across the Delivery and Engagement function by supporting users, resolving day-to-day issues and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Execute and maintain operational automations, ensuring scheduled workflows run reliably, issues are identified promptly and outputs remain accurate.
Maintain operational templates, guides and knowledge libraries, ensuring documentation remains organised, current and aligned with ISO-9001 standards.
Contribute operational insight to governance improvements, product initiatives, AI developments and wider business projects, providing practical feedback based on day-to-day experience.
Who you are and how you'll make an impact
You have experience in an operations, programme support or delivery environment, ideally within technology, consulting or another fast-paced commercial business. You understand that consistent delivery depends on well-maintained processes, clear governance and reliable operational support, and you take pride in ensuring the detail is right.
You are comfortable working with operational platforms, project management tools and internal workflows, using them to improve efficiency and maintain high standards across the team. You have experience working with commercial documentation, including Statements of Work or similar agreements, and understand the importance of accuracy when supporting customer delivery.
You communicate clearly, producing well-structured documentation, templates and updates that enable others to work effectively. You enjoy identifying opportunities to improve processes and are confident maintaining and troubleshooting existing automation workflows where required.
You are equally comfortable supporting people as you are improving systems. Whether onboarding new Delivery Coordinators, balancing workloads or resolving operational issues, you bring a practical, organised and collaborative approach that helps the wider Portfolio function perform consistently.
A day in the life
No two days are exactly the same, but your focus is always on keeping the Portfolio function running smoothly. You might start the day reviewing Delivery Coordinator capacity, updating portfolio reporting or checking that governance activities have been completed correctly. Throughout the day you'll support customer mobilisations, process commercial documentation, resolve operational queries and ensure the team's tooling and automations continue to perform as expected.
You'll work closely with the Head of Portfolio, Delivery Coordinators and colleagues across the Delivery and Engagement function to maintain consistent ways of working, improve operational processes and ensure everyone has access to the guidance, templates and information they need. Along the way, you'll identify opportunities to make the function more efficient, surface potential issues early and contribute practical insight to wider business improvements.
