Head of Finance
Our client is seeking a Head of Finance:
You must have previous experience working within a law firm.

Head of Finance — Position Overview:
You will lead the firm’s finance function, overseeing all financial operations and managing the finance team. As part of the senior leadership group, you will advise Partners on financial performance, drive efficiencies through improved systems and controls, and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements including SRA Accounts Rules. Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance:
- Ensure full compliance with financial, regulatory and SRA Accounts Rules requirements
- Lead and deliver financial strategy aligned to business objectives
- Produce management accounts, cashflow forecasting and financial reporting
- Oversee year-end accounts, external audits and financial compliance reviews
- Manage treasury and cashflow to mitigate operational and financial risks
- Improve and automate finance systems, reporting and processes
- Manage and review budgets across departments and support growth initiatives
- Lead, support, and develop the finance team to deliver high performance
- Experience within a law firm (essential)
- Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and compliance
- Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven senior finance leadership experience in professional services
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical approach
- Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills
- Ability to balance hands-on operational work with strategic leadership
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders
