Assistant Budget Manager
We're looking for an Assistant Finance Manager for a public sector organisation based in London (hybrid) on an initial 3-month contract, paying up to £265 per day (Inside IR35).
This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend the office in London around 2 days per week. The successful Assistant Finance Manager will support the Acting Budget Manager in running the department's finance and accounting functions. You'll prepare annual budget schedules, upload approved budgets, set up quarterly funding, and monitor spend against budget while responding to queries from budget holders. You'll also handle quarterly accruals, recharge invoices, pension contribution authorisations and high-level fund reconciliations. You will need proven experience working with the following: AAT qualified, or qualified by experienceAccounting and finance software such as SAP, Oracle or SunAccounts
Strong Excel (formulae, vlookups, table arrays, linked spreadsheets, formatting and validation)
Budget preparation, monitoring and reconciliation
Clear written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders Experience of a finance system migration (for example SAP to D365) would be beneficial, as the organisation will be transitioning systems during the assignment. Confidence to deputise for the Budget Manager is a plus. You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain BPSS clearance. Interested? Please apply below.
