Payroll Specialist
Location: City of London (Hybrid – 2–3 days in office) Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term (Salaried)

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise to a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your work directly supports the people who keep our railway running.
Desire:What you’ll be doing: You’ll take ownership of our monthly and four-weekly payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a smooth experience for our employees. Using the iTrent HR/Payroll system, you’ll manage everything from pay changes and bonuses to complex union arrangements and pension contributions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Running end-to-end payroll for over 500 staff (blue and white collar)
- Managing starters, leavers, and pay changes via HRIS, Smartsheets, and Excel
- Handling HMRC submissions and compliance (P11Ds, P45s, P60s)
- Supporting bonus calculations, sick pay, and annual increases
- Liaising with Trade Unions on pay and allowances
- Collaborating with HR, Finance, and Recruitment teams
- Producing finance journals, reconciliations, and people reports
- Leading on Gender Pay Gap reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
