Graduate Assistant Accountant

This is a globally recognised multinational corporation based in south west London. They specialise and run leading businesses in various key areas including retail, infrastructure and telecommunications serving consumers and clients worldwide.

They are looking to hire a new position as a Graduate Assistant Accountant , within their finance department. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is keen on developing their accounting career within an international organisation.

Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Graduate Assistant Accountant will support on a number of key transactional and reporting duties across various entities, dealing with AP/AR and month-end.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Ensure all routine finance processing is completed accurately and to monthly deadlines
• Work with internal teams to gather data for reporting and decision-making
• Manage accounts payable, including invoices, purchase orders, and coding
• Ensure costs are recorded in the correct period
• Plan and carry out regular supplier payment runs
• Process employee expenses in line with company policy
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and resolve queries quickly
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations, petty cash and journals
• Support VAT returns and maintain accurate financial records
• Assist with process improvements, ad hoc analysis, and finance projects

Profile

The ideal candidate for this Graduate Assistant Accountant position, should have the following:

• Recent graduate (or equivalent) with 6-12 months of accounting experience in a similar role
• Experience in processing invoices and managing Accounts Payable
• Strong academic background
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Interest in studying towards a qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
