The Opportunity
Wayman Education is seeking an innovative and technically skilled Design & Technology (DT) Teacher for an immediate start at one of Richmond’s most prestigious independent schools. The Role
We are looking for a teacher who can inspire the next generation of engineers, architects, and designers. You will be responsible for delivering a curriculum that emphasizes both aesthetic design and functional engineering, utilizing the school’s extensive workshop facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Delivery: Teach DT at KS3, GCSE, and A-Level (Product Design), ensuring students achieve top-tier results in both controlled assessments and examinations.
Technical Mastery: Demonstrate expertise across a range of materials including woods, metals, and plastics, as well as modern CAD/CAM processes.
Project Mentorship: Guide students through complex NEA (Non-Exam Assessment) projects, from initial sketching and prototyping to the final high-quality product.
Safety & Standards: Maintain an exemplary standard of Health & Safety within the workshops, ensuring all students are proficient in machine use.

Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, though we welcome industry professionals with significant teaching experience in the independent sector.

Proven experience teaching Product Design at GCSE and A-Level.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM technology and traditional workshop machinery.
Current Health & Safety certificates (DATA/CLEAPSS) for workshop instruction.
