The role
We’re looking for a curious and data-focused Digital Marketing Manager to lead the activation and optimisation of our direct-to-learner digital marketing. Reporting to the B2C Marketing Director, you’ll play an important role in attracting, converting, and supporting learners at every stage - from curious prospect to proud alumni.
You’ll work closely with the Content, CRM, and Data teams to create seamless, personalised learner journeys, while managing email campaigns, website optimisation, and lifecycle automation. This is a hands-on role where you’ll get involved in automation, segmentation, A/B testing, and conversion rate optimisation, with plenty of space to try new ideas and make things better.
Your goal? Ensure every digital touchpoint is working hard to support learner attraction, engagement, and retention. You'll help shape our test-and-learn culture, using insight and first-party data to continuously improve performance and create impactful learner experiences.
Responsibilities include:
- Own and deliver B2C digital channel activity with a focus on direct-to-learner email marketing, lifecycle automation, and website conversion.
- Plan, execute, and optimise multi-channel campaigns aligned to learner journey stages, programme launches, and business goals.
- Lead the implementation of email marketing campaigns (e.g. newsletters, lifecycle flows, cohort comms), managing segmentation, A/B testing, personalisation, and automation through HubSpot.
- Collaborate with:
- B2C Content Manager on messaging, content planning, and tone of voice.
- CRM & Data Manager on workflow logic, segmentation, and first-party data use.
- Reporting and Data & Tech teams to ensure visibility of KPIs and enable smarter decision-making.
- Manage and optimise microsites improving UX, and layout to drive conversion.
- Use tools like Google Analytics, Clarity, and internal dashboards to monitor digital funnel performance and identify opportunities for CRO.
- Develop strategies to attract, nurture, and convert learners across digital channels aligning journeys with awareness, consideration, and sign-up phases.
- Champion the smart use of data to enhance personalisation, campaign segmentation, and performance optimisation.
- Support limited but strategic paid activity on LinkedIn and Meta, in partnership with the B2C Content Manager.
- Work hand-in-hand with wider marketing teams to align digital distribution and campaign success.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of evolving martech and AI tools to enhance campaign efficiency and creativity.
About you
You're a curious, results-driven digital marketer with sharp instincts and serious skill when it comes to digging into data and turning insights into action. You’re passionate about making every click and email count, and you enjoy digging into the numbers. You thrive in cross-functional teams, love a well-crafted journey, and take real pride in delivering marketing that works.
Experience and skills
Essential
• Proven B2C digital marketing experience across acquisition, engagement, and retention.
• Hands-on with HubSpot (or similar) for workflows, nurture campaigns, automation, and performance reporting.
• Strong track record in email marketing; automation, personalisation, segmentation, and optimisation.
• Skilled at activating campaigns using behavioural and funnel data to guide timing, targeting, and improvements.
• Experience running A/B tests and experiments to inform strategy.
• Confident using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Looker Studio, PowerBI, HubSpot, internal dashboards) to generate insights and optimise performance.
• Familiar with user behaviour and CRO tools like Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar.
• Experienced in website optimisation, UX improvements, and conversion rate tactics.
• Collaborative and proactive - able to lead own workload while supporting cross-team projects.
• Works closely with content and data teams to implement, track, and enhance campaigns with a focus on measurement and learner journey insights.
• Embraces a test-and-learn mindset to continuously improve results.
• Passionate about staying ahead of digital trends and adopting new tools, especially AI-driven solutions.
Desirable
- Exposure to attribution modelling or funnel performance analysis to assess ROI and channel contribution.
- Comfortable interpreting data dashboards and collaborating with tech/data teams to improve reporting accuracy and depth.
- Understanding of paid media strategy including PPC and paid social, with an ability to interpret results and guide optimisation, even if not directly executing.
