Senior Systems Modelling Engineer
- Pioneer the future of Space Technology
- Bring connectivity to remote frontiers
- Collaborate with customer-centric experts
- Embrace cultural diversity in our global team
You're a systems engineer with experience leading the development of models/simulators of complex systems, ideally in the satellite or terrestrial communications industry. You can identify connections and dependencies in highly complex systems and understand how to architect an appropriate systems model. You combine your strong technical background with programming to develop, validate, and maintain system models of varying scope and fidelity to meet the needs of the engineering organisation and the wider business. You're a capable self-starter and love to learn. You're sparked by a fast pace, with new challenges, and the opportunity to learn/invent new techniques. You're a self-motived creative thinker who works collaboratively and is ready to produce results. You can produce rigorous, model-based analyses and review the technical output of more junior team members (both code and analysis). You possess superb communications skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries. What You'll Do:
• Take a leading role in the architecture and development of our in-house system performance simulators.
• Ensure that the team's software development methodologies and standards are followed and maintained.
• Oversee validation and verification of models, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals/requirements.
• Pro-actively identify challenges or inefficiencies and propose innovative solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members on software development tasks. What You'll Need:
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Aerospace engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Maths. Masters degree preferred.
• 3 years' experience developing, maintaining, and validating software models of complex systems.
• 3 years' experience developing software collaboratively as part of a team and the associated software development techniques and best practices.
• A strong technical understanding of JULIA or Python, and experience with other coding languages (MATLAB, C++, SQL).
• Hands-on experience developing PHY layer models for wireless communication systems (preferably satellites) including signal processing, channel modelling, and error detection and correction.
• Experience with network simulators and packet layer modelling.
• A technical understanding of RF communications engineering.
• Experience working with LEO/MEO/GEO satellite communication systems and their CONOPS.
• Knowledge of current 3GPP standards.
• A collaborative nature and strong ability to communicate across multiple stakeholder levels and work across organisational boundaries. Where You'll Work:
Our team is currently based out of three different locations, any of these are potential options:
• London, UK.
• Paris, France.
• Turin, Italy.
