Position Summary – Flat Roofing Contracts Manager
We are seeking an experienced Flat Roofing Contracts Manager to take full operational and commercial responsibility for the delivery of multiple roofing projects. This role is focused on performance — ensuring contracts are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will oversee projects from handover through to final account, managing site teams, controlling costs with finance team, mitigating risk, and maintaining strong client relationships. This is a pivotal leadership role within the business, directly impacting profitability, reputation, and future growth.

Responsibilities
Contract & Project Delivery
- Manage multiple flat roofing contracts from handover to completion.
- Review project scope, specifications, drawings, and programme prior to start.
- Develop delivery strategies and site logistics plans.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme and quality standards.
Commercial Management
- Monitor project costs, variations, and financial performance.
- Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and final accounts to internal finance team.
- Identify and manage commercial risk proactively.
- Control subcontractor payments and procurement in line with budget.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasting and reporting.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as primary point of contact for clients and main contractors.
- Attend site meetings and progress reviews.
- Maintain strong professional relationships to support repeat business.
- Resolve disputes or issues quickly and commercially.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works comply with H&S legislation and company procedures.
- Conduct site audits and enforce high safety standards.
- Ensure operatives are trained, certified, and competent.
- Maintain up-to-date RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage site supervisors and roofing operatives.
- Coordinate labour and subcontractor resources effectively.
- Hold teams accountable for performance and quality standards.
- Support recruitment and workforce planning where required.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure installation standards meet manufacturer specifications and warranties.
- Conduct site inspections and sign-offs.
- Oversee snagging and defect resolution efficiently.
Qualifications Skills
- Strong commercial awareness and cost control capability.
- Excellent organisational and programme management skills.
- Confident communicator with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Decisive leadership with the ability to manage pressure.
- Strong working knowledge of flat roofing systems (single ply, felt, liquid, hot melt, etc).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in flat roofing or 3 years roofing contract management.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Experience working with main contractors and direct clients.
Education & Certifications
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
- CSCS Card (Manager level).
- First Aid at Work (preferred).
- Relevant construction qualification (NVQ Level).
