International Trading Manager

Wonderbly
London

About Us

At Wonderbly, our mission is to connect the world together through our special gift books. We make personalised books that inspire boundless self-belief in children and celebrate love in all kinds of relationships. Our books have allowed over ten million readers to see themselves as the hero of their own stories.

Wonderbly is an award winning brand now part of the Penguin Random House group, that operates at the intersection of print-on-demand, personalisation and D2C e-commerce. Our business is growing fast, and we’re looking for a seasoned, commercially driven International Trading Manager to accelerate our growth across a selection of key international markets, as well as our Historic Newspapers brand globally.

About the Role

We’re looking for a commercially focused and analytically sharp International Trading Manager to lead the charge in some of our highest-priority growth markets.

You’ll be responsible for driving performance across all channels (primarily our own direct-to-consumer site), with a laser focus on meeting revenue and contribution goals.

Working cross-functionally with Performance Marketing, Product, and Ops, you’ll own and execute localised promotions, pricing, and merchandising strategies tailored to your assigned markets.

This is a high-impact role that reports directly to the VP Commercial and plays a key part in scaling Wonderbly’s international reach as well as helping to build on the massive growth seen in our Historic Newspapers brand.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver against revenue targets across a portfolio of key international growth markets.
  • Define and execute market-specific trading strategies across all ecommerce channels — primarily owned (DTC), with potential exposure to partner and marketplace activity.
  • Own the end-to-end calendar of promotions in collaboration with the Marketing Team, ensuring timely and data-driven campaign planning, forecasting, and post-mortem analysis.
  • Shape local pricing and discounting strategies based on commercial targets, consumer insights, and market dynamics.
  • Suggest and run AB tests optimising for conversion rate and AOV.
  • Collaborate closely with Performance Marketing on market-level media plans and ROAS targets.
  • Partner with Product and Operations teams to ensure the right products are available and merchandised appropriately for local demand.
  • Analyse customer behaviour, product performance, and campaign effectiveness using a mix of reporting tools and e-commerce data.
  • Make proactive recommendations to optimise revenue, AOV, CVR, margin and ultimately contribution.

Requirements

🧠 About You

  • You have 3+ years experience in a similar commercial or trading role, ideally at a D2C ecommerce business with international scope.
  • Experience with Shopify is a plus but not essential.
  • You’ve had direct exposure to managing a P&L or trading performance for specific markets or channels.
  • You thrive on hitting numbers and have strong data fluency — comfortable using data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Experience with Looker is a plus but not essential.
  • You’re highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives across different markets.
  • You’re collaborative and communicative, with a strong sense of ownership and a get-things-done mindset.
  • You don’t need CRM experience — but you should understand how customer engagement fits into broader commercial success.
  • You’re motivated by Wonderbly’s mission and want to help bring personalised storytelling to families all over the world.
