Experienced Barista at Profile
We are looking to hire a full-time barista for Profile in Highbury, 40-45 hours per week. This role would suit someone with extensive existing experience as a barista who wants to take the next step in their career, with opportunity for progression and creative freedom in a great environment.
We work with La Cabra from Copenhagen as our house roaster (The only place in London to do so) along with monthly UK & International rotating guest roasters on our guest espresso, batch and pourover menu. We use a reverse osmosis water filtration system for all our coffees at 90-100ppm and TDS all our coffees.

Responsibilities
• Engaging with customers with a friendly attitude and showcasing your skills behind the bar • Create and develop recipes for espresso, filter coffee and pourovers • Operating and maintaining high-end equipment so everything is working beautifully • Get involved in events, menu development across drinks & food • Assist with daily operations: stock control, ordering, scheduling, cleanliness • Supporting management with hiring and growing a strong team culture • Light food prep
Required Skills
• Experience as a head or senior barista in a specialty coffee / cafe environment preferred to feel confident jumping into the role • Expert knowledge of espresso recipes, pourover, dial-ins, latte art, and machine maintenance • Confident leader who can train, inspire, and support others • Keen interest in coffee & food to improving workflows • Friendly, relaxed attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in your craft • Great work ethic and proactive approach to service • Excellent communication and customer engagement skills
The starting rate of pay is £13.25 per hour along with 28 days holidays pro rata and an outlined progression path to a senior rate of pay of £13.85 per hour within 3 months. You will also receive a share of monthly tips divided amongst the team from our Square POS system.
