The Position

Working with the Girls Talent Pathway team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of all aspects of the newly defined Early Engagement Programme (Under 10-12) which involves the Assessment Process, Winter Training and Summer Training/Match-play Programmes.

The Early Engagement Programme (EEP) is an ECB initiative for counties to implement across the U10 to U12 age groups. The aims of the EEP are: to broaden the talent base and increase the connection between the recreational game and the talent pathway; to strengthen the talent pathway by widening the talent pool; and to increase the diversity within the talent pathway.

The role will focus on programme management through collaboration with key staff and external stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure are key attributes. An enhanced coaching element to the role will evolve as the smooth running of the programme is assured. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of programme management and coaching in these age groups, who will flourish in a high performing environment and have a positive impact on those around them.

Requirements

What you'll do

The role will start on the 1st October 2025, ahead of the Early Engagement Programme launch in November 2025.

Key responsibilities will include management of the player identification, recruitment/retention processes. Developing strong relationships across participation and performance cricket within the County. Managing delivery of key coaching content over the winter and summer, along with devising match play formats to continue player development and oversight of an equitable selection process for match-play.

  The Person

The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities:

 

Essential

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable experience of communicating clearly and concisely through both written and verbal communication to deliver services and information to various stakeholders
  • An ability and demonstrable experience of using your initiative and high levels of problem solving skills to achieve goals and key objectives within certain timeframes
  • A good level of understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
  • ECB Level 2 Coaching Certification
  • Valid DBS check and child protection certification
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Valid UK driving licence

 

Desirable

  • Previous experience in sports administration
  • ECB Level 3 Coaching Certification
  • First Aid qualification

 

The post holder will be expected to work evenings and weekends as well as have flexibility to dovetail working arrangements in with fixture and training schedules that will change across each season.

 

Benefits

Part-time (0.5 role)

£16,000.00 per annum

23 days holiday increasing to 28 days based on length of service (pro-rata)

Non-Contributory Pension scheme

Membership for Surrey home domestic games, Tickets for International Games and loads more
