SEN Teaching Assistant - Wandsworth
An inclusive and well-resourced primary school in Wandsworth is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. This SEN Teaching Assistant role provides the opportunity to work within a collaborative team that places pupil wellbeing and progress at the centre of its practice.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Wandsworth, you will support pupils with a variety of learning and emotional needs. Working alongside teachers and the SENCO, you will help implement personalised strategies to support engagement and development. The SEN Teaching Assistant will assist both within the classroom and during targeted interventions.
Key responsibilities include supporting learning activities, managing behaviour positively, and encouraging pupils to develop independence. The SEN Teaching Assistant will also contribute to monitoring progress and adapting support strategies as required. The school values open communication and teamwork.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEN pupils and demonstrate a caring, patient approach. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to build trusting relationships are essential. The SEN Teaching Assistant should be confident supporting both academic and emotional needs.
