Based in one of our core offices ( Manchester, Bristol, Warrington, or Glasgow ), this position joins our 2027 Graduate Programme within our specialist nuclear team. Around 50 professionals spread across these locations collaborate to support operators, public sector bodies, and regulators across the new build, existing generation, decommissioning, and defence markets.
You will work with high-profile clients such as Rolls Royce SMR, EDF Energy, Urenco, Devonport Royal Dockyard, Sellafield Ltd, and Great British Energy - Nuclear. Check out our nuclear technical services line here: Nuclear Technical Services | Stantec, As a Graduate Nuclear Management Consultant, there are opportunities to cover a breadth of different disciplines ranging from nuclear safety case management, environmental management, and radioactive waste management to nuclear criticality assessment and radiological safety assessment. You will work closely with senior consultants in a collaborative environment to develop your technical skills across the entire project lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing vital technical support to senior team members in the delivery of complex projects across a range of nuclear disciplines, including safety assurance, radioactive waste management, and environmental assessments.
Taking a proactive, lead role on the execution of specific technical tasks, which involves performing detailed data assessments, reviewing and updating technical documentation, authoring high-quality reports, and recording technical outcomes during client workshops.
Supporting senior team members with day-to-day client engagement and business development interactions, while actively contributing to the preparation and development of competitive bid submissions for new work opportunities.
YOUR IMPACT
With the potential to support both our Nuclear/Environmental Safety Case services and our Radiological Waste Management specialism in this role, you will apply rigorous scientific approaches and engineering thinking to some of society's most complex challenges, helping to ensure that nuclear operations remain safe, sustainable, and ethically responsible.
This includes performing technical assessments to keep nuclear facilities operating within stringent safety margins, as well as providing strategic consultancy to UK government subsidiary bodies and site operators to guide decommissioning, corporate governance, and central waste management strategies. Ultimately, your contributions will directly prevent accidents, minimise environmental impacts, and safeguard public trust, ensuring that the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and the expansion of critical infrastructure are delivered safely, securely, and cost-effectively to support the clean-up mission for the UK's nuclear legacy and the UK's long-term net-zero ambitions.

At Stantec, we value your potential over experience. Along with a bachelor's degree in engineering , sciences , mathematics , or a related STEM discipline and an active interest in energy infrastructure/nuclear landscape,you will bring:
An Analytical Mind: Ability to analyse complex data, manage assumptions or uncertainty, and develop structured, logical solutions with strong attention to detail.
A Communicator: High-level literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to write clear technical reports and explain complex concepts to various stakeholders.
A Collaborator: A proactive, adaptable mindset with a desire to learn from a supportive team and build strong professional relationships.
Desirable skills (but not essential) include coding experience (e.g., Python), and an awareness of nuclear safety principles/hazard analysis (HAZOP, SWIFT).
Please note: We ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week to ensure you receive sufficient face-to-face mentorship, team time, and the appropriate level of support.
