Deadline18th August 2025
Start dateSeptember 2026
Job type Location SectorsMI5 and MI6 are part of the UK's Intelligence Services. We work together to safeguard Britain's people, interests and businesses from various threats at home, overseas and online, including cyber-attacks, espionage, terrorism, and organised crime. On our Technology Graduate Development Programme, you'll work across our vital missions, delivering impact at the heart of national security, all within a supportive and inclusive environment that allows everyone to thrive.
About the roles
As a Technology Graduate, you'll work with a wide variety of colleagues on unique projects that have a real-world impact - all to help us protect the UK.
We'll soon be recruiting for Technology Graduates at MI5 and MI6 in Central London. Whichever role you choose to apply for, you'll work as part of several welcoming teams and develop your skills, knowledge and experience in a supportive environment. As part of the programme, you'll need to select a specialism from the following:
- Business Analysis - MI5
- Delivery Manager - MI5
- User Experience (UX) Design - MI5
- Engineering (Software & Data) - MI5
- Engineering (Software, Data & Infrastructure) - MI6
- Information & Cyber Security - MI5
- Data Science (Machine Learning and AI) - MI5
Whichever specialism you choose, you'll enjoy an extensive combination of on-the-job and formal training. We'll provide ongoing support to ensure you get the most out of the scheme, including mentorship and coaching and access to staff networks. And you'll have every opportunity to develop, whether that's taking on team-building activities such as challenges and presentations alongside your peers, or developing your personal and leadership skills. Plus, we'll fund further external and accredited training and qualifications to support your future career.
About you
There's no 'type' of person we're looking for. If you're enthusiastic to learn, passionate about technology and have a positive attitude to personal development, we're keen to hear from you. You'll also need to have (or be expecting) a 2:2 by September 2026 in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject.
We'd particularly encourage women and people from Black, Asian or other ethnic minority backgrounds to register their interest for these roles. We recognise these groups are currently underrepresented in our workforce. It's vital that we create a culture where different insights, perspectives and experiences are welcomed - and where you'll always be encouraged to contribute, shape our work and be yourself.
The recruitment and vetting process can take up to nine months to complete. So, now is the perfect time to apply if you're currently in the final year of your studies. Should you have a disability or long-term health condition, and want to discuss any reasonable adjustments we can make, simply let us know when you submit your application.
A registration of interest does not constitute a job application, nor will such registration have any bearing upon the recruitment process itself. Any individuals who register their interest and who decide subsequently to apply for one of these roles will need to complete an application form once the window for applications has opened.
Once the application window has opened, we welcome applications from all candidates, regardless of their ethnic background, gender, disability and/or any other characteristic(s). All applications will be assessed solely on merit.
