Digital Project Manager

How&How
London

How&How is seeking an exceptional Digital Project Manager to join our growing team. This pivotal role will be the driving force behind our digital projects, primarily focusing on website production, organising our talented digital team, and ensuring the smooth, efficient execution of all things digital.

This isn't just a production role; it's a blend of project and account management, where you'll be the crucial link between our clients and our digital design and development team. If you thrive on detail, love clear communication, and are confident in leading the charge, we want to hear from you.

This is a full-time position, but we are happy to consider applications from anyone who would prefer to work a 4-day week.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead Digital Projects: Take ownership of digital projects from kick-off to launch, with a primary focus on website builds. You'll oversee timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

  • Project Management: Organise our digital team, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. You'll be the go-to person for all digital project queries and ensure effective workflows.

  • Client Management & Education: Be the primary client contact for digital projects, building strong relationships and confidently guiding them through the production process. You'll educate clients on technical aspects, clarify requirements, and manage expectations, including the ability to confidently say "no" when requests fall outside the agreed scope.

  • Technical Liaison: Act as the vital bridge between clients and our developers. Your understanding of web technologies, platforms, domains, hosting, and especially Headless CMS will be crucial in translating client needs into clear, actionable briefs for the development team and confidently communicating technical concepts back to clients.

  • Scope, Project & Retainer Management: Work meticulously on website projects and retainers, ensuring smooth ongoing operations and identifying opportunities to organically grow accounts. You'll be instrumental in helping to scope new projects, providing realistic timelines and resource estimates.

  • Quality Assurance (QA) Oversight: Oversee the QA process, ensuring all points are condensed, clearly flagged for scope, and clarified upfront, minimising back-and-forth for our development team.

  • Collaborate on Design: Be actively involved in the website design phase, understanding the intricacies of how things are supposed to work and aligning terminology across projects.

  • Beyond Digital: While your specialism is digital, you'll also have the opportunity to assist with broader account management tasks, leveraging your excellent organisational and client-facing skills.

Your skills:

  • Proven Digital Production Expertise: A minimum of 3 years experience in a digital project management or digital producer role, with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered websites.

  • Technical Acumen: A solid understanding of web development processes, terminology, and key technologies. Experience working directly with developers and understanding their needs is essential.

  • Headless CMS Experience: Practical experience working with and managing projects involving Headless CMS platforms is essential. Prismic and Contentful will both be very familiar to you.

  • Exceptional Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts simply and clearly to clients and internal teams.

  • Client-Facing Confidence: You're comfortable and confident in front of clients, able to present ideas, manage expectations, and navigate challenging conversations with professionalism.

  • Detail-Oriented: A meticulous approach to project management, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks, especially when it comes to retainers and project scope.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive and resourceful approach to identifying and resolving project challenges.

  • Branding Knowledge: While digital is your core, an understanding of branding principles will be a definite plus.

  • Organisational Prowess: Excellent organisational and time-management skills, capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Digital Product Experience: Experience with digital product development is a bonus.

The Perks:

  • Salary of £42,000-£47,500 (DOE) + bonus opportunities

  • We operate a profit share scheme with everyone in the agency, because we believe everyone should share in the success of the entire team

  • We publish all our salary tiers internally and the same job roles are paid exactly the same. Because we think that's fair

  • We contribute 3% of qualifying earnings to anyone who wants to engage in our pension scheme

  • 39 Day Holiday allocation — 28 days holiday + 8 bank holidays + Christmas shutdown

  • We work from our bright and airy Shoreditch studio, with 2 days WFH per week

  • Early finish Fridays

  • Impact Days—as part of our B-Corp initiative, we give you an extra 2 days a year to make an impact and volunteer in a way that means something to you

  • 2-week work-from-anywhere opportunities (time zone dependent)

  • Sabbatical policy of up to 3 months after you've been with us for 2 years

  • Monthly 1-2-1s, 3-month check-ins and 6-month reviews with your line manager to give honest feedback, celebrate wins, and make sure your efforts are recognised. Good work leads to good things, so if you’re doing a great job, you’ll see that reflected in your salary and opportunities to grow

  • £1,000/year skills & training allowance

  • Cross-skill training, giving you the ability to improve on overall performance

  • We operate a Cycle to Work scheme, so you can spread the cost of a new bike, tax-free, through salary sacrifice

  • We offer free breakfast, snacks and drinks in our beautiful kitchens

  • We host regular studio learning lunches, head out to talks together, and every other Thursday we wrap up early to hold courses (accompanied by pizza & drinks) in the studio

  • We also cover tickets to events like It’s Nice That’s ‘Nicer Tuesdays’, or industry talks and design conferences

  • Twice a year, we get our whole global team together in one place for epic Summer and Winter parties

  • Visa Sponsorship—we can help sponsor your Visa in the UK! Currently working on doing the same in the U.S.

  • We’re B-Corp Certified, which means our agency meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability

  • Zero ego: we believe the best work happens in collaboration. So we purposely only hire open-minded, brilliant team players

  • Maternity and Paternity packages 🐣
    • Maternity
      • 90% of your average weekly earnings (before tax) for the first 6 weeks

      • 80% for the next 20 weeks (a total of 6 months)

      • Statutory after that up to 33 weeks

    • Paternity
      • 100% of your weekly earnings (before tax) for 4 weeks

  • Fun fact! We had a great Q4 last year so raised everyone's salaries across the entire studio by 5%—because we believe we should all share our hard work

As such, we’re looking for the right person—not the job description. If that’s you, we’d love to hear from you. You may be just who we’re looking for :)

What you can expect:

At How&How, we take pride in a hiring process that ensures we bring in the best talent, while creating an experience that's clear, fair and transparent.

Here’s what you can expect after applying:

  1. Submit your application
We begin by reviewing your application. If your experience aligns with what we’re looking for, we’ll get in touch to arrange an interview.

  2. Interview with our team
If selected, you’ll have an initial chat with one of our team members to discuss your skills, background, portfolio and how you could contribute to our team.

  3. Online assessment via TestGorilla
Next, you'll be asked to complete an online assessment through TestGorilla. This helps us understand your problem-solving abilities and how you approach challenges—no pressure, just a chance for us to see how you think.

  4. Final Interview with our founders
If you do well in the assessment, we’ll invite you to a final interview with our founders, Cat and Rog. This is a relaxed, insightful conversation where we get to know you better and discuss how you'd fit into our growing team.

We’re excited to meet new, passionate individuals who are ready to collaborate and make a real impact. If that’s you, don’t hesitate.
