- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Completion of foundation training
- Evidence of having attended a simulation 'Train the Trainers' programme
- Evidence of participation in a medical education- related study programme
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice at time of appointment.
- Higher degree (MSc, MD, PhD or equivalent
- Publications in recognised medical or academic journals
- Evidence of a teaching qualification
- Training in debriefing methodology
- Previous experience in simulation
- Training in debriefing methodology
- Evidence of experience in a range of specialties, with experience of managing complex patients in hospital
- Competence in independent management of medical emergencies
- Evidence of independently leading teams
- Able to work in a team, to lead others and develop excellent inter-personal relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of management and problem solving
- Demonstrable excellent skills in written and spoken English
- Evidence of clinical teaching including simulation
- An understanding of NHS management and resources.
- Three years or more of post-foundation training
- Leadership or management roles.
- Previous experience in technology applicable to simulation
- Previous experience of delivering simulation sessions and in debriefing
- Able to demonstrate proficiency in a range of medical procedures and medical emergencies
- Shows ambition, initiative, drive, enthusiasm and ability to get things done (self-starter and highly motivated)
- Able to work in a team, to lead others and develop excellent interpersonal relationships
- Able to cope with pressure and uncertainty.
- Ability to problem solve and independently make decisions.
