A high-growth, PE-backed healthcare company is seeking a Financial Controller to join its team based in Paddington. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced SME environment, ideal for a technically strong and commercially curious finance professional ready to shape and scale a growing finance function.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a team of three and take full ownership of financial reporting, control processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the month-end close process and preparation of the Finance Pack (P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow).
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of three (2 Management Accountants and 1 AP/AR).
Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting; manage the full audit process.
Partner with the FP&A Analyst to support the annual budget and forecasting cycles.
Maintain robust balance sheet control and reconciliation processes.
Identify and implement system and process improvements across finance and the wider business.
Play an active role in cross-functional projects aimed at operational and financial improvement.
Requirements:
ACA qualified, with a minimum of 1.5 years' post-qualified experience.
Strong experience in a multi-site business environment (healthcare or services sector preferred).
Proven track record of people management and a genuine interest in coaching and team development.
Strong Excel skills and a deep understanding of accounting fundamentals, including double entry.
Comfortable working with systems and committed to continuous improvement.
Analytical and inquisitive mindset, with the ability to think commercially and solve problems proactively.
Ambitious, collaborative, and able to lead by example in a growing, dynamic business.
