King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Job overview

The three acute providers in South East London (SEL) work collaboratively through the Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) to improve health and care outcomes for SEL patients. The APC has developed a strong infrastructure and delivers a complex portfolio of programmes. By coordinating efforts across the acute providers, the APC aims to:

  • ensure SEL patients have equitable access to healthcare services

  • deliver sustainable, high-quality and safe healthcare across SEL

  • make best use of collective resources through economies of scale

  • collectively manage system-wide risks and benefits

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong analytical and finance skills to join the team. The role is varied and includes developing capital business cases, integrated finance, workforce and activity models, and analysis to support efficiency opportunities and clinical network priorities. The post holder will work in a matrix structure across APC networks and organisational boundaries and will engage closely with key stakeholders.

The role offers senior-level exposure, working with CFOs and senior finance colleagues across the system. We welcome applications from high-performing candidates who are keen to influence innovation and development in acute services across SEL. This is a flexible role that can be shaped in line with the post holder’s skills and aspirations. We are a welcoming and supportive team.

This post is advertised on a fixed-term or secondment basis.

Main duties of the job

This post will work alongside the APC Finance Lead and colleagues within the APC Programme Team as well as finance colleagues from the three partner organisations.

This role will focus on providing support through the development of financial insights and wider analysis that enable and drive change, as well as thoughtful engagement with key stakeholders.

The post holder will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and implementing multiple pieces of work simultaneously, ensuring that project reporting structures are in place and that effective reporting; escalation and remediation is always in place. The post holder will be expected to act autonomously ensuring that daily tasks and workloads are prioritised and completed in agreed time frames. They must have excellent interpersonal skills and use their own initiative to solve problems and produce clear outputs.

The post holder will also be required to deputise as appropriate for the SEL Finance Lead.

This role is part of the SE London Acute Provider Collaborative delivery team, which is hosted by King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust – recruitment is therefore being undertaken via King’s and the post holder will be a King’s employee.
