Graduate Insurance Executive
Job description
Graduate Insurance Executive
Location: London (Office-Based)
Salary: Competitive
The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a law graduate with 1-2 years’ professional experience who is looking to transition out of traditional legal practice and build a long-term career in the insurance and risk advisory sector. Our client, a growing specialist insurance brokerage, works with a range of corporate clients, entrepreneurs and high-growth businesses. They are looking to hire a bright, driven graduate who wants to apply their legal training in a more commercial and client-facing environment.
This role is particularly suited to someone who has realised that traditional legal practice may not be the right long-term path, but who would still like to utilise their legal skillset - including analytical thinking, attention to detail and understanding of contracts and risk within a fast-paced business environment.
You will work closely with experienced brokers and senior members of the team, gaining exposure to insurance placement, client advisory and risk management. The role offers a clear development pathway, with the opportunity to progress into an Account Handler or Account Executive position over time. The company will also support you through professional insurance qualifications and ongoing training to help you build a successful long-term career in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting senior brokers with the placement and administration of insurance policies
- Assisting with research and analysis relating to client risk exposure and insurance coverage
- Preparing client documentation, renewal reports and presentations
- Liaising with insurers, underwriters and internal teams to ensure policies are structured effectively
- Supporting client meetings and communicating with clients when required
- Monitoring policy renewals and assisting with day-to-day account management
- Keeping up to date with market developments and regulatory changes within the insurance sector
- Providing general administrative and operational support within a busy brokerage environment
What They’re Looking For:
- A legal qualification such as an LLB, LLM, GDL, LPC or SQE (or equivalent law degree/qualification)
- 1-2 years’ professional experience (for example as a paralegal, legal assistant, compliance professional, or within another commercial role)
- Someone who has decided that traditional legal practice may not be the right long-term path, but who would like to apply their legal training in a commercial environment
- Exceptionally strong attention to detail
- The ability to work at pace in a fast-moving, high-performance environment
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in
- Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with clients and stakeholders
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Commercial curiosity and an interest in the insurance or financial services sector
Career Development:
- Clear pathway to becoming an Account Handler or Account Executive
- Full support through insurance qualifications and industry training
- Mentorship from experienced brokers and senior professionals
- Exposure to complex commercial clients and insurance programmes
