As a Security Officer, you are responsible for protecting the premises, assets, and personnel, while maintaining a secure and safe environment for visitors, staff, and contractors. This role requires a highly visible, proactive security presence focused on deterring illegal or inappropriate actions and providing professional, active involvement in all incident response. The fundamental objective of this position is to detect, deter, protect, observe, and report.

About the Role:

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

Access, Egress & Logistics Management

• Highly Visible Security Presence: Maintain a highly visible, proactive security presence on and around the site, focusing strongly on effective access and egress controls.
• Verification and Awareness: Accurately check and verify all badges and visitor passes, and actively promote security awareness among all personnel.
• Loss Prevention & Control: Strictly controlling access by checking the identity of all staff, contractors, and official visitors.
• Visitor Management: Meet and greet all visitors upon arrival and efficiently direct them to the appropriate reception staff .

• Security & Compliance

• Patrol and Deterrence: Conduct routine internal and external patrols to maintain a highly visible preventative security presence across the site, ensuring complete familiarity with the site layout, buildings, and operational processes.

• Emergency Response: : Promptly and effectively respond to and investigate activations of all life safety systems, including Fire Safety and intruder alarm systems.
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively detect, deter, and report all unauthorised or suspicious activity to the Team Leader, thereby safeguarding premises, assets, and personnel from theft, damage, and violence.

Emergency Response & Safety

• Emergency & Incident Command: Act as a primary first responder for all pre-planned or significant security events. Immediately take command of the Service Yard during emergencies, ensuring effective liaison with the Security Control Room (SSC), GSOC, and external emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance).
• Safety & Compliance: Uphold the highest safety standards, prioritizing the well-being of all employees, contractors, and visitors. Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Communication & Teamwork

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain continuous, clear, and professional communication with all security partners and occupier service teams, ensuring they are consistently updated on critical operational developments.
• Proactive Support: : Respond to and efficiently manage urgent, ad-hoc work requests from the site management team, demonstrating a timely and flexible approach to support the wider team.

• Collaborative Work Ethic: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while seamlessly integrating and contributing to a broader security and service team.
• Superior Customer Engagement: Excellent customer service skills with proven experience in a high-traffic, customer-facing environment, effectively managing and interacting with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
• Proactive Security Focus: : A highly proactive approach to security, prioritizing prevention and the identification of potential issues before escalation.

• Please note that, successful candidates will be required to undergo periodic vetting checks during their employment. This is not a full vetting process, but a routine credit and directorship check and carried out every three years to ensure ongoing compliance with our security standards.
