Technical Program Director

As a Principal Technical Program Manager at the Executive Director level within Chase UK, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex, cross-functional technology programs that help the Technology Organisation achieve its Key Objectives, as well as establishing frameworks for Technical Program Management across the bank. You will work closely with senior leadership, engineering teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful program execution and alignment with business objectives. The role will connect with the wider Program Management Chapter to establish standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership:
    • Lead and manage large-scale, complex technology programs from inception to launch, understanding the key phases of a program lifecycle.
    • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring clear communication and alignment with stakeholders.
    • Establish standards for program management within the JPMC framework and improve these over time for the Technology domain.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to define program scope, objectives, and success criteria.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Leverage deep technical knowledge to guide program decisions and challenge engineering planning
    • Use technical knowledge to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to help keep the project on track.
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Execution and Delivery:
    • Oversee program execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Implement best practices in program management, including Agile methodologies, to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of program managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting professional development and growth.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in technical program management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex technology programs at scale.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience implementing Agile practices in large organizations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in financial services or a related industry is preferred.
