Royal London Group has an exciting opportunity for an Investment Office Analyst to join our team. This role sits within Royal London’s Investment Office as part of the team responsible for the investment management of our Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) and annuity business.
The BPA and annuity business is a key area of growth for Royal London. We believe that we are ideally placed to be a partner of choice for our clients, whilst also providing attractive returns, diversification and future financial protection for existing Profit Share members and Royal London.
In this role you will collaborate closely with our asset management partners to enhance and advance the Group’s investment capabilities. Your contribution will help shape strategies that optimise the performance of our growing BPA business and deliver sustainable value.
The Investment Office is committed to supporting the successful candidate within this role as our BPA business grows.
About the role
- Support the process of obtaining internal approvals and the onboarding of new asset classes to support the BPA business
- Assist in building new and existing relationships with key stakeholders within the Royal London Group as well as external asset managers
- Support senior colleagues in reviewing, challenging and influencing new investments in the Matching Adjustment Portfolio
- Support the review of portfolios constructed to back new BPA transactions.
- Produce and / or actively contribute to papers, presentations, reports etc. in line with Investment committee(s) agenda(s)
About you
- Ability to analyse complex information with accuracy and to evaluate information critically
- A keen eye for detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Previous experience of working within financial services, preferably within an investment focused role
- Good understanding of the types of investments and derivatives used by insurers for BPA business and a basic understanding of Solvency UK Matching Adjustment regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Adaptable and effective when handling multiple tasks and managing priorities in a dynamic environment
- Progress towards CFA, Actuarial, or equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous.
