Crystal Palace F.C.
London

Job Location: Flexible across our Central London, Selhurst Park, Training Ground.

Contract Type: Full-time

Deadline: 2nd October 2026

Who we are:

We are Crystal Palace Football Club, a Premier League Football Club with more than 160 years of proud history. Spread across three different sites - brand new main offices at Selhurst Park Stadium, our London office, and our Training Ground/Academy, we offer the best atmosphere and culture for our fans and our employees.

We strive for excellence in the workplace with a philosophy of high standards, professionalism, and a strong work ethic from our employees. We are constantly trying to grow, diversify and build with not only our team on the pitch, but also our team in the offices and on the ground.

Portfolio:

When applying, please include a portfolio of up to three written pieces which you feel best show off your editorial flair. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to discuss the context and story behind these pieces. You can share your portofolio by providing the link, or by uploading it as an additional file (at the end of your application).

About this role:

The Editorial Manager is the most senior member of our editorial team, responsible for managing – and contributing to – all written output on cpfc.co.uk , the Official Crystal Palace App and editorial publications (including marketing collateral, and supporting on Men’s and Women’s matchday programmes), as well as App push notifications.

With a communications-first mindset, the successful candidate will be expected to produce a broad range of written content, leading on the Men’s team but supporting on Women’s and Academy sides – and digital initiatives and marketing campaigns – when required.

We are seeking someone to deliver best-in-class storytelling which inspires, informs and connects with our supporters around the world, building off the platform of back-to-back trophy-winning campaigns, whilst also effectively managing our newly redeveloped digital estate on a daily basis.

Based primarily in our Central London offices, but with the flexibility to travel to Selhurst Park and our training facilities in Beckenham as the role demands, this role will be expected to work in the week.

They will also work approximately two-thirds of our Men’s first-team matchdays, both home and away, including in the UEFA Europa League (with subsequent lieu days to be agreed with the Head of Marketing).

In doing so, the successful candidate will develop relationships across the club and assist the football department, marketing, retail, ticketing, commercial, premium hospitality, and operations with their communication requirements. They will need to work at pace, with sensitivity and strong attention to detail.

The successful candidate will manage three editorial line reports (who work across the wider team, but who specialise in our Programme, Women’s and Academy content streams), as well as commission guest contributors.

Responsibilities:

    o Short-form and long-form features

    o Marketing collateral

    o Retail & commercial promotions

    o Supporter-focused updates

  • Produce engaging, emotive and innovative feature content that celebrates and showcases the important stories on our respective teams, and the wider club.

  • Manage the website’s structure, with a key focus on keeping the newly redeveloped website and App homepages, tabs and news pages fresh and relevant to drive consumption.

  • Ensure that App Push notifications are delivered at an appropriate frequency to target audience(s) and maximise traffic and commercial goals.

  • Using Google Analytics and App analytics dashboards, the ideal candidate will monitor content consumption daily and adjust focus to drive growth.

  • Support colleagues in Marketing to ensure that ensure that campaigns / content / announcements are appropriately targeted to the desired audience(s) on digital channels.

  • Support the Head of Marketing in directing the continual development of cpfc.co.uk and the App, including working with our digital agency partners and raising support tickets.

Other

  • Work approximately two-thirds of Men’s first-team matchdays (with subsequent time off in lieu to be agreed with the Head of Marketing): home and away matches, including those in the Europa League.

  • Line manage the Editorial Executive & Programme Editor; Marketing & Communications Executive (leading on Palace Women); and Editorial Executive (leading on Palace Academy), including matchday rotas, time off and expenses.

  • Develop and maintain working relationships and key contacts across the club.
