Right now, we are looking for a Support Worker to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health Service in Tower Hamlets.
Sounds great, what will I be doing?
As a Support Worker, you wil l empower service users to engage confidently with community mental health teams, social workers, housing providers, healthcare professionals, and employment or training services, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are effectively represented. You will support ongoing assessments, advocate for appropriate levels of support, and help individuals progress towards greater independence. Working collaboratively as part of a flexible team, you will contribute to service delivery, develop co-produced activities and peer support opportunities, and encourage meaningful community engagement. You will monitor health, wellbeing, safety, and service quality, complete timely referrals and reviews, support colleagues, and use your initiative to respond effectively to emerging needs and challenges.

In this role, you will need a strong understanding of recovery-focused practice and the ability to apply a range of recovery approaches that promote independence, resilience, and positive outcomes for service users. You will have experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and dual diagnosis, including providing effective support during periods of crisis while maintaining dignity and respect. The ability to work collaboratively with frontline statutory services, including the NHS, is essential, as is knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and safeguarding procedures. You will be an effective team player with strong communication, literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, capable of maintaining accurate records and working flexibly across shifts, weekends, and bank holidays to meet service needs.
