Lead Platform Engineer

Some engineers like building greenfield products.

Others like solving problems that only appear when complex systems need to perform at scale.

This role is for the second group.

This is an opportunity for a Lead Platform Engineer to help design, build and evolve complex cloud platforms. The kind of systems that need to be secure, resilient and observable, not just on launch day, but every day after that too.

You will be working across modern cloud environments, helping teams move from legacy infrastructure to cloud native platforms that are easier to operate, easier to scale, and frankly, much less likely to ruin someone's weekend. Think AWS, Kubernetes, GitOps, OpenTelemetry, platform engineering and internal developer platforms built with genuine self service in mind.

What makes this interesting isn't just the technology.
It's the influence.

You will be trusted as a senior technical voice, helping shape platform strategy, engineering standards and reliability practices whilst remaining hands-on with architecture, design and problem solving. One minute you might be exploring new technical approaches with the team, the next you're helping engineers untangle a particularly awkward platform challenge.

This is a genuinely strong engineering environment where knowledge sharing isn't a slogan buried in a PowerPoint deck somewhere. You will be surrounded by experienced engineers who enjoy solving hard problems together, with plenty of opportunities to learn, develop your skills and keep progressing technically.

The environment is hybrid, with a blend of home working and time spent collaborating with colleagues when needed. This isn't a fully remote role, but it is one where you will be trusted to work in the way that best supports both the team and the work being delivered.

Ultimately, if you're the sort of engineer who enjoys ownership, likes having a voice in technical decisions, and gets a kick out of building platforms that genuinely matter, we'd probably enjoy having a conversation.

No buzzwords. No "rockstar engineers". Just interesting problems, modern technology and the opportunity to have a real impact at scale.
