Designer, Seasonal & Classics (3 month Fixed-Term Contract)
Role Overview:
Liberty is renowned for its prints, and this three-month fixed-term role is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your talent and help shape them. As a Designer, you will join our Design team to create exquisite seasonal print collections in inventive colourways, always relevant to the brand and the market.
Central to the role is ensuring our classic Liberty print collection honours its heritage while offering diversity and freshness. Reporting into the Head of Design, you will also carry out CAD tasks and breathe new life into designs from our much-loved archive through re-colouring.
Key Responsibilities:
Research seasonal collections, following the brief from the Head of Design with guidance from our Senior Designers.
Create beautiful new artworks in response to the collection brief.
Develop archive designs into repeats and appropriate colourways.
Produce colourways and repeats using AVA, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Select CAD colourways and fabric strike-offs.
Provide clear, coherent design information to our factories.
Present to sales, customers and the wider design studio.
Work to the critical path, with administrative tasks in PowerPoint, Excel and InDesign.
About You:
You have a keen eye for colour, a strong interest in art and culture, and the creativity and analytical mind to bring both heritage and freshness to a collection. You are a clear communicator who enjoys working with others, understands the customer and has a drive for excellence.
You will bring:
Relevant experience within a fashion or interiors textile studio.
Exceptional painting and hand-drawing skills.
Proficiency in CAD packages and programs such as Photoshop.
Knowledge of AVA would be beneficial, but training will be offered.
Please note: the role may occasionally involve late evenings or weekends to meet the needs of the business, and ad-hoc travel in the UK and overseas (trade shows and factory visits). You may also be involved in external partnership and bespoke projects.
Liberty is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and opposes all forms of unlawful discrimination. We are committed to creating an environment where people from all backgrounds can thrive – bringing their unique perspectives, skills, and experience to everything we do.
We are dedicated to eliminating both conscious and unconscious bias from our practices.
