Capital Actuarial Analyst (IT)
Introduction At RSA, we believe insurance is about people, not things. We provide our inspiring colleagues the support and opportunity to grow together, shape the future, and win as a team. We are going through a transformation journey, providing our people with opportunity to be integral to improving our service and delivering better products to brokers and customers. We are a proud member of the Intact family, we feel part of something bigger, with a presence in North America, the UK and Europe. We have a bold ambition to become the best Commercial Lines business in the UK, demonstrated by our recent acquisition of NIG and Farmweb, allowing us to scale by leveraging our combined financial strength and importantly ensure our people feel the benefits of our joint capabilities. We are currently recruiting for a Capital Actuarial Analyst to join our established and experienced team here at RSA on a hybrid basis. Your role The purpose of this role is to support the development, maintenance, and analysis of the UK&I Internal Model. The UK&I Internal Model is an "approved" model and is thus required on a regulatory basis to be run and maintained under the standards laid out in the UK Solvency II directive and supporting guidance. In addition, there is a requirement for the Internal Model to contribute to our internal capital assessment and be used throughout the business. The outputs from the Internal Model, therefore have a wide audience including the Internal Model Governance Committee, Capital Management, Reinsurance, Risk & Validation as well as senior executives from the UK&I business. Thus, in addition to the ability to learn/develop Igloo based solutions for development, accuracy and ability to communicate changes to capital metrics are essential to the role. Candidate profile: About you Ideally you will be a nearly qualified actuarial student or have made substantial progress in your actuarial exams, backed by at least a couple of years of relevant experience-experience that aligns with the expectations of the UK&I Head of Capital Modelling. You will ideally have a good foundation in Capital Modelling, Reserving, or Pricing, and have demonstrated the technical aptitude to quickly develop Igloo programming skills. You are comfortable explaining complex actuarial concepts and modelling outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Above all, you excel at building and maintaining productive, collaborative relationships- both within the UK&I Capital Modelling Team and across the wider business areas.
