Mobile Automotive Technician - Barnet
Mobile Vehicle Technician – Service, Maintenance & Repair Division
Join a leading motoring services organisation that is expanding its mobile repair offering. In this role you will deliver planned servicing and repairs directly to members’ driveways or workplace car parks, using a fully equipped van and advanced diagnostic tools. No emergency call‑outs, no unpredictable shift patterns – just a clear schedule and the support you need to do quality work.
What You’ll Do
- Perform routine servicing and comprehensive vehicle safety checks in line with company standards.
- Run diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment and interpret the results.
- Carry out in‑depth repairs that would normally be completed in a workshop.
- Provide members with clear advice and recommendations based on your inspections.
- Manage parts ordering and use the organisation’s mobile service platform to keep appointments on track.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- At least 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently while delivering excellent customer service.
Working Conditions
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week with core hours 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
- One in four Saturdays required.
- Base salary £45,378 (inclusive of London weighting where applicable).
- On‑target earnings up to £57,000, including bonuses and premium‑rate overtime.
- Guaranteed overtime option after the first month – £30 per hour, with the potential to add £3,000–£5,000 annually.
- Fully equipped company van, fuel card, uniform, complete tool set and advanced diagnostics provided from day one.
Benefits & Perks
- Earnings that motivate – competitive base plus performance bonuses.
- Flexible overtime – choose extra days to boost your income.
- Vehicle scheme – access to a salary‑sacrifice car programme (including electric options) after 12 months.
- Holiday entitlement – 23 days (rising to 25 days with service) plus bank holidays.
- Pension – up to 6.5 % employer‑matched contributions.
- Life assurance – cover up to 4 × salary (optional 10 × with flex benefits).
- Wellbeing support – 24/7 confidential helpline for you and household members aged 16 +.
- Discount portal – exclusive savings on retailers, holidays, tools and technology.
- Colleague Share Scheme – automatic enrolment after probation, giving you a stake in the organisation’s success.
Opportunities for Growth
- Continuous professional development, including training on electric‑vehicle systems and advanced diagnostics.
- Clear career pathways within a national organisation that values ambition and recognises achievement.
- Opportunities to specialise further or move into supervisory or training roles.
Why This Role Is Different
- Planned appointments instead of emergency responses.
- Consistent workflow with time to complete jobs properly.
- Independence in a mobile setting while backed by a trusted national brand.
- Direct interaction with members, delivering peace of mind and high‑quality service.
If you enjoy variety, independence, and using your technical expertise to help people stay on the road, this Mobile Vehicle Technician position could be the perfect fit. Apply now – no CV required, the process takes just five minutes.
