Associate Director - M&A Integration

Civica
London

We’re Civica, and we create software that helps deliver critical services for citizens all around the world.
From local government, to education, health, and care, over 5,000 public bodies across the globe use our software to provide essential services to over 100 million citizens.

Our aspiration is to be a GovTech champion everywhere we work, supporting the needs of citizens and those who serve them every day. Building on 21 years of continuous growth and success, we're at a pivotal point in our journey to realise that aspiration.

Why you will love this opportunity as Associate Director – M&A Integration at Civica

As an Associate Director of M&A integrations in our Corporate Development team, you will lead the successful integration of newly acquired businesses into the Civica Group. You will work across functions and geographies to deliver seamless transitions that preserve business continuity, enhance customer experience, and unlock long-term value.

You’ll bring a strong operational mindset to the role, combining hands-on experience in customer-facing environments (such as customer support, escalations, or service delivery) with a proven track record of managing complex integration programmes. You’ll work closely with leadership and stakeholders to design and deliver integration plans that reflect our strategic priorities and cultural values.

What you will do to be successful in this role

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end integration planning and execution for acquisitions, working across all business functions to deliver on synergies, continuity, and value creation goals.
  • Collaborate with functional leads (e.g., customer support, product, sales, finance, HR, IT) to align and execute integration workstreams.
  • Act as the central point of contact for integration efforts, ensuring clear communication, issue resolution, and progress tracking across stakeholders.
  • Bring a customer-first perspective to integrations, ensuring customer experience and service levels remain strong during transitions.
  • Manage integration risks and escalations effectively, drawing on operational expertise to solve problems quickly and pragmatically.
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, tools, and best practices to continuously improve integration capability at Civica.
  • Support due diligence efforts by assessing integration complexity and risks pre-close and shaping post-close plans accordingly.
  • Monitor integration performance metrics and report progress and outcomes to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing M&A integrations.
  • Prior experience in customer support, escalations, service delivery, or a similar operational role, with a deep understanding of customer impact during transitions.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional programmes in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Strong project and programme management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to influence and collaborate at all levels.
  • Analytical, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience in the software or technology sector is highly desirable; exposure to private equity-backed businesses is a plus.

We Want You to Bring Your Whole Self to Work

There is no such thing as the perfect candidate, so if you think you have what it takes but don't necessarily meet every single point on the list above, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.

Why You'll Love Working with Us

As a company, we're passionate about what we do and the citizens we serve. If you, too, want to champion the use of technology in public services to improve outcomes for citizens and public sector organisations, then Civica is the right place for you. We will help you unlock the best version of yourself, achieve career growth, and make a real difference to people and communities.

We know that when our people are happy, they work better and have greater job satisfaction. Here's what you can expect:
