About the Role

We are looking for an experienced marketing and events manager.
As an integral member of a Metro-dedicated team within the wider Mail Metro Media commercial department, you will develop and execute marketing initiatives to promote the Metro brand and key commercial messages to advertisers – predominantly media agencies and direct clients.

Main Responsibilities

• You’ll confidently manage internal teams and external companies when necessary to deliver innovative and impactful marketing activations and events from idea to execution.
• You’ll lead the event management process and overall delivery from concept through to comms copy, design, venue, guest list, speakers, talent and logistics of a wide range of marketing events.
• You will also be responsible for maximising effective opportunities for commercial partnerships and media sponsorships.
• Above all else, you will be confident working autonomously but relish the challenge of getting stuck in, bringing fresh ideas and working with different departments and partners to deliver successful projects on time and within budget.
• You’ll be willing to go the extra mile and bring energy to a small, collaborative and busy team that enjoys having some fun along the way!

This role is accountable for:

• Events: Lead the development, planning and delivery of small to large scale events e.g. agency roadshows, client immersion sessions, external training days, category specific presentations, new product, brand or research launches, intimate and larger-scale industry gatherings..
• Activations: Manage ad hoc experiential activity for clients/agencies which best represent the Metro brand, engaging existing and potential advertising partners, guaranteeing standout amongst competitors.
• Storytelling: Work closely with Insights and Creative teams to bring to life key audience, product and category stories that effectively engage target audiences.
• Targeted seasonal activity: Co-ordinate send of marketing collateral and gifts throughout the year, effectively engaging partners with relevant messaging.
• Industry partnerships: Work alongside Mail Metro Media’s commercial team to deliver effective industry partnerships with trade bodies and press including sponsorship of conferences, awards, trade shows, summits and more.
• Media partnerships: Lead and manage media brand partnerships with external stakeholders and editorial teams.
• Branded merchandise: Source relevant and fun merchandise that represents brands/events
• Database: Manage the upkeep and effective use of various mailing lists on Salesforce.
• Other: Updating trade website and collateral, social media management, creating brand house ads and collateral, copywriting, negotiating supplier contracts, tracking competitor activity in market, supporting ongoing internal culture initiatives aligned with Mail Metro Media’s values.

Person Specification

• Minimum 5 years’ events experience, ideally for agency or media company
• Delivery of multiple innovative marketing initiatives
• Good knowledge of the media industry and landscape
