Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Head of Technical Architecture to join our high profile client.

Our Client is a global fintech business. Much of what it does is particularly secret but based around cryptographic technology and distributed protocols within the global banking space. This is a greenfield project with high demand and security requirements with an urgent need to get going.

The head of technical architecture will be tasked with working with a large group of financial leaders across the globe. MY client is investigating the feasibility of several global cryptocurrencies as well as 2 very complicated distributed data systems.

The Head of Technical Architecture will be an excellent communicator, with experience of working in startup environments, who can demonstrate repeated experience of establishing robust platform infrastructure in a fast-moving, rapidly changing and exciting environment.

On a day to day basis the Head of Technical Architecture will:

• Work with the research and development team and directly with external financial entities, projects and communities to survey market landscape for solution insights, direction, and methods
• Oversee aspects of project lifecycle, from initial kick-off through requirements analysis, design and implementation phases for projects within the solution area
• Develop and execute a solution strategy and architecture

Heads of Technical Architecture MUST have:

• Computer Science Degree
• Experience in a small firm or startup
• Serious experience of large scale distributed systems architectire
• Deep and broad understanding of computer science and engineering principles, most likely obtained through a combination of advanced academic study and significant professional experience
• Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering a solution that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
• Experience with enterprise integration, preferably within financial institutions
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs
• Knowledge of front-to-back systems in banking, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture and integration

You should be experienced in multiple languages and multiple development methodologies and will have delivered both traditional applications and solutions delivered as a service. You will likely have worked both in banking and startup environments, being comfortable with ambiguity.

Capital Markets and/or Trading technology experience is not mandatory but a plus.
