Our people – and ultimately residents – benefit every day. Please view the extraordinary story of Daphne’s Insight .The Role:
As a Senior Campaign Officer, you too can make a powerful contribution. Join a growing team, learn new skills, broaden your portfolio, and work on campaigns and projects that will make a difference in the heart of London.
You’ll design and deliver strategic, audience-first campaigns that support council priorities and corporate objectives, using government-backed planning frameworks. You’ll turn to data and insight to inform your decision-making on the most effective interventions, channels and tools to engage and influence audiences. Plus, you’ll scan and interpret the local government and communications landscape to identify and manage risks, while making the most of opportunities. Once a campaign is in progress, you’ll regularly evaluate its effectiveness and identify areas for future improvement. Each campaign will have a key message, and you’ll drive it forward, ensuring that every team is on the same page. That’ll entail developing strong relationships with senior stakeholders, explaining the scope of the work and keeping them updated throughout. It’ll also involve overseeing shoots, writing copy, and working with media to promote campaign ideas. At all times, you’ll make sure that content is in line with our brand and objectives. And that each campaign delivers effective, measurable and transparent outcomes. You’ll take ownership by chairing meetings for planning and delivery. We’d also like you to inspire the team – promote inclusion, encourage openness and constructive feedback, and support the creative processes. Together, we’re building an exciting team that is bringing to life strategic campaigns with insight-driven, cut-through content. This is your chance to have a positive, lasting impact on the communities we serve. Please refer to the for more information.About You:
To this role, you’ll bring a proven ability to develop and deliver successful communications and engagement campaigns across diverse channels. Skill in proactive strategy, clear messaging, and working independently with minimal oversight. You’re able to segment, understand audiences, and create communication that meets their needs. You have demonstrable experience creating online content – matched with strong communication skills, whether it be in copywriting, editing or visuals.
As this is a council role, you’ll need to be experienced and comfortable handling sensitive enquires, including liaising with stakeholders to minimise reputational risk. It would be great if you have worked in a political environment before, where you’ve had to accommodate differing perspectives across the organisation. You have knowledge of issues facing local government, as well as the legal, financial and political context of public sector engagement. Building collaborative relationships across the council and externally will be key. Our work can get busy. You’ll be comfortable in this environment and able to juggle responsibilities and prioritise effectively. We’d like you to bring a thoughtful, practical approach to problem solving so that our suggested changes are successful and support the people of Westminster. A marketing or communications degree would be useful – but equivalent professional experience also works for us. Westminster City Council is committed to supporting Care Leavers into the workplace. Care Leavers seeking their first job and who wish to be considered under our scheme, will automatically be invited to interview should they meet the essential criteria for the role.
