Duration: 6 months (with the option to extend)
Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time
Job Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a dynamic service in London , providing support across both special school and mainstream educational settings . You will work with primary and secondary-aged students , delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for children and young people with a range of speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
This position offers a diverse caseload, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference across multiple educational environments. Whether you’re an experienced Band 6 therapist looking to develop your expertise or an established Band 7 seeking a new challenge, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving communication outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Assess, diagnose, and manage a range of communication and language difficulties in children and young people.
• Provide both direct and indirect therapy within mainstream and specialist school settings .
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary professionals to develop and implement effective therapy plans.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional standards and service policies.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, reviews, and training sessions as required.
• Support the development of communication-friendly environments within the school community.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) .
• HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) .
• Previous experience working with paediatric populations , ideally across both mainstream and special school settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families.
• A flexible and proactive approach to service delivery.
