The Role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our team. This role will be crucial in helping to ensure accurate and timely reporting to support in providing insightful analysis against budget and forecast. This role will also support in the preparation of the monthly management reporting pack and will be serving as the key point of contact for any audit queries in relation to their areas of responsibility. 

Responsibilities will include:

Revenue recognition 

• Take ownership of month-end accounting processes with a focus on revenue recognition and reporting. 

Variance Analysis 

• Support in conducting detailed analysis of monthly performance against budget and forecast, investigating and explaining key variances to provide valuable insights to management. This involves business partnering with the FP&A team to further understand variances vs the budget or forecast. 

Audit Liaison 

• Serve as a point of contact for external auditors regarding any samples or queries to ensure a smooth audit process. 

Management Reporting Support 

• Assist in the preparation of the monthly management reporting pack, contributing to the accuracy and insightful presentation of financial information. 

Process Improvement 

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within accounting and reporting processes. 

Ad-hoc tasks 

• Provide support on other ad-hoc finance projects and analysis as required.

Requirements

Essential: 

• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Strong excel skills, including the ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly in the area of revenue recognition.
• Experience in preparing and analysing management accounts
• Strong organisational and time management skills (including experience in working to deadlines).
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks.
• Ability to present information in a concise and professional manner.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Part qualified accountant with at least 2 years of accounting experience

 

Desirable: 

• Experience of working with Netsuite
• Experience in technology and/or a SaaS business
