About the Role
Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is a fast-growing part of our organization, dedicated to delivering planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to our members. This role is distinct from traditional roadside rescue, allowing you to work through a scheduled list of jobs without emergency callouts or unpredictable shifts.

- Routine servicing
- Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically completed in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations based on inspections
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with our standards
With a fully equipped van, fuel card, uniform, and advanced diagnostics at your disposal, you’ll use your technical skills to ensure our members are back on the road safely and confidently.
What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

- 40 hours per week, with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays
- Guaranteed overtime options available
Benefits
- Earnings That Motivate: Market-competitive base salary with opportunities for bonuses and premium-rate overtime.
- Opt-in Guaranteed Overtime: Choose to work extra rest days at £30 per hour, potentially earning an additional £3,000 to £5,000 annually.
- Tools to Drive Your Future: Free RAC Ultimate Complete Breakdown Service from day one, plus access to a car salary sacrifice scheme after 12 months.
- Time Off That Matters: 23 days of holiday (rising to 25 with service), plus bank holidays and support for work-life balance.
- Financial Security & Perks: Pension scheme with up to 6.5% matched contributions and life assurance cover.
- Wellbeing That Works for You: 24/7 confidential support service available for you and your household.
- Extras That Make a Difference: Access to exclusive discounts and a Colleague Share Scheme after passing probation.
Opportunities for Growth
This role is perfect for those who enjoy independence, problem-solving, and variety. You’ll have the chance to develop your skills, including future EV and diagnostic training, while providing peace of mind to our members.
