Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
The Chief Technology Officer is a core member of the executive team, responsible for setting and executing the company’s Product and Technology strategy and ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality products and platforms that support the company’s commercial and operational goals.
The CTO works closely with the CEO and executive peers to translate business priorities into technical direction, balancing innovation with reliability, speed with quality, and short-term delivery with long-term sustainability. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on ownership appropriate to a growing technology organisation.
Impact and Responsibilities
Set and own the company’s product and technical direction, making clear decisions on architecture, tooling, and platforms that support current delivery needs and future scale.
Own the Product P&L and Equity Story, driving the commercial roadmap by balancing high-tempo product discovery with disciplined unit economics.
You will lead the strategy for pricing, packaging, and margin optimisation, ensuring every technical investment and architectural choice directly unlocks revenue, supports investor due diligence, and scales gross profit as efficiently as it scales code.
Lead engineering delivery end-to-end, ensuring teams ship reliably, maintain high standards of quality, and can explain trade-offs around scope, timelines, and technical debt.
Translate business priorities into executable technical plans, sequencing work so that customer impact, regulatory obligations, and commercial outcomes are delivered predictably.
Own the evolution of the core platform, ensuring it remains secure, resilient, and maintainable as usage, complexity, and regulatory expectations increase.
Establish and enforce standards covering code quality, testing, deployment, and observability. Hold multi-disciplinary teams accountable for both the performance of the code and the impact of the product.
Act as the executive owner of technology and product risk, including security, availability, and third-party dependencies, ensuring risks are visible and actively managed.
Provide technical and product leadership in customer and partner engagements where depth or credibility is required, particularly around integrations, security, and scalability.
Oversee internal systems, IT services, and the product/tech budget, ensuring spend on infrastructure and tooling is appropriate to the company’s growth stage and margin targets.
Build and lead a world-class team of engineers, product managers, and designers. Create an environment of "extreme ownership" where teams are empowered to improve how we build while remaining laser-focused on business outcomes.
Expectations
Proven executive leadership in high-growth, product-led environments. You’ve seen what "good" looks like at scale and know how to get there.
A deep engineering pedigree paired with sharp product intuition. You can critique a system architecture and a pricing model in the same meeting.
You don't just build features; you build a business. You understand unit economics, margin expansion, and how to price for value.
A track record of shipping complex software in high-stakes, regulated markets without sacrificing speed for stability.
You build elite, multi-disciplinary teams. You set high bars for ownership and accountability, and people stay because they grow under your leadership.
You translate "business speak" into "technical execution" effortlessly, ensuring every sprint moves the needle on the P&L.
You treat security, compliance, and resilience as core product features, not afterthoughts.
You cut through the noise. You’re as comfortable defending a roadmap to the Board as you are whiteboarding with a Lead Engineer.
