Digital Workplace Specialist

Sage
London

Digital Workplace Specialist – £41,200 - £45,000 – Permanent

Join us and be part of a mission-driven, independent publisher. You’ll work with a diverse group of people who share a passion for empowering researchers, educators, and institutions to shape the future.

About Sage:

Sage  is a global academic publisher of books, journals, and library resources with a growing range of technologies to enable discovery, access, and engagement. Believing that research and education are critical in shaping society, Sara Miller McCune founded Sage in 1965. Today, we are controlled by a group of trustees charged with maintaining our independence and mission indefinitely.

Our guaranteed independence means we’re free to:

  • Do more – supporting an equitable academic future, furthering disciplines that drive social change, and helping social and behavioural science make an impact

  • Work together – building lasting relationships, championing diverse perspectives, and co-creating resources to transform teaching and learning

  • Think long-term – experimenting, taking risks, and investing in new ideas

About our Team:

Our Digital Workplace team is dedicated to creating a seamless, empowering technology experience for every colleague. We partner closely with employees, People & Culture, IT Operations, Facilities, and senior leaders to ensure the tools people rely on every day are intuitive, reliable, and accessible. From supporting collaboration spaces and hybrid‑working technology to enabling secure, productive device use, the team plays a key role in shaping how people work across the organisation. You’ll be joining a supportive group that values curiosity, continuous improvement, and inclusive service delivery.

Could you be our new Digital Workplace Specialist? Are you?

  • Experienced in providing effective first and second‑line support, resolving incidents and requests within agreed SLAs and maintaining positive user‑satisfaction scores.

  • Committed to delivering inclusive, user‑centred customer service, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues at all levels.

  • Are you confident helping users with Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and collaboration tools, providing clear training, mentorship and addressing problems efficiently.

  • Experienced in configuring and maintaining laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals across Windows and Apple environments, ensuring accurate setup and timely issue resolution.

  • Able to coordinate user access through Active Directory or similar tools, creating and updating accounts accurately and in line with access‑control policies.

  • Skilled in problem solving and organising your workload, consistently prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Capable of supporting AV systems, meeting‑room technology, and hybrid‑working setups, ensuring smooth operation for meetings and events.

  • Familiar with asset management, device lifecycle processes, or ITSM reporting, maintaining accurate records to support operational decisions.

Your new role:

You’ll be the visible, approachable face of the Digital Workplace team in the office. Your purpose is to ensure colleagues can work effectively, confidently, and securely by providing high‑quality support across devices, applications, collaboration tools, and workplace technology. You’ll combine technical capability with a strong service mindset, resolving issues quickly, preventing recurring problems, and improving the overall digital experience for employees.

  • Act as an approachable first point of contact for in‑office digital workplace support, ensuring employees receive a consistent, high‑quality, user‑centred service experience.

  • Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 support across in‑person, phone, and remote channels, resolving issues with devices, operating systems, applications, collaboration tools, AV, and telephony to minimise disruption.

  • Manage and resolve incidents and service requests through the ITSM platform, maintaining clear communication and meeting agreed service levels.

  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to specialist teams with accurate documentation and effective handover to support timely resolution.

  • Configure, deploy, and support end‑user devices and software, ensuring smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences for starters, movers, and leavers.

  • Provide proactive support for workplace technology, including meeting rooms, AV equipment, and hybrid‑working setups to ensure reliable, disruption‑free meetings and events.

  • Maintain accurate user access, asset records, and stock levels, and contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, updating knowledge articles, and supporting Digital Workplace initiatives.
