About RentaDinosaur
We create life-sized dinosaur events (with realistic giant dinosaur puppets) that make people stop in their tracks! We’re known for our slapstick and educational Dino Shows and quality dinosaur entertainment.
RentaDinosaur began in 2015 and our clients are venues such as castles, festivals, zoos, museums and shopping centres, plus a whole range of family attractions and events, where we bring dinosaurs to life for thousands of families across the UK, and abroad, every year.
Out of season we also do school visits and theatre tours, as well as occasional overseas events. No two days are ever the same, and we love the variety!
We have a very busy home office based in Orpington, where you would need to be based a lot of the time. We will discuss options for working patterns at interview – hybrid working may be available. We also have an office cat, so a lover of cats, as well as dinosaurs, would be preferred!
Do you love sales, people and the thrill of closing a deal?
We're looking for someone passionate about sales, who genuinely loves talking to people on the phone, building relationships and getting a buzz from turning an enquiry into a booking. If you're the sort of person who loves to chat, isn't afraid to pick up the phone and has patience and self-motivation (as some clients take months to make a decision!) and has a talent for turning conversations into new bookings, we'd love to hear from you.
Experience and a great track record in B2B sales would be preferred.
The Role
You'll be talking to brand new enquirers, existing and repeat clients, CRM database contacts, while also searching for exciting new potential clients and venues.
You'll need to live within commuting distance of Dino HQ - our home office in Orpington where you’ll work closely with our Creative Director and our social media/marketing officer.
Our busiest sales season runs from the end of September through to Easter, so that's when you'll really be in your element.
During the quieter summer months, you'll still be busy keeping in touch with clients, hunting for new opportunities and occasionally rolling your sleeves up at Dino HQ. That might mean helping load vans, heading out to visit potential venues and carry out a few "dino reckies".
If you’re friendly and flexible, and can be productive in a busy environment, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Be Doing
● Chatting with prospective clients by phone, text, email, LinkedIn, plus video calls on Zoom/Teams and the occasional face-to-face visit.
● Following up incoming enquiries and turning them into confirmed bookings.
● Building great relationships with castles, museums, shopping centres, holiday parks, farm parks, event organisers etc - plus schools, theatres for out of season events.
● Prospecting for new clients and opening doors to exciting opportunities – including through Linked In/Google research.
● Preparing quotes and bespoke event proposals.
● Spotting opportunities to add extra experiences and Dino Extras to bookings.
● Keeping Pipedrive records up to date (if it's not in the CRM, it didn't happen!).
● Playing a key part in the Linked In marketing strategy
● Following up with previous clients to bring in repeat bookings.
● Chasing old potential leads as some contacts take a few years to book!
● Attending 4-6 Trade Exhibitions, where we promote RentaDinosaur in person.
● Phoning leads immediately after each Exhibition to bring in bookings and nurture the slower decision makers.
● Creating seasonal sales campaigns and promotions.
● Meeting agreed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
● Representing the company professionally wherever you go.
● Working closely with our Creative Director, events and social media colleagues to make sure every booking runs smoothly.
What We're Looking For Essential
● Minimum one year's experience in sales, telesales, business development or customer service.
● A confident and friendly phone manner.
● Someone who's well organised and self-motivated.
● A great track record in sales.
● Great communication skills, including written English (without relying on AI).
● Confident using CRM/database, email, Microsoft Office, OneDrive.
● Degree level education or equivalent experience.
● You must have the right to work in the UK.
Bonus Points If You Have...
● Experience selling events, entertainment, theatre or educational experiences.
● Lead generation experience.
● A creative mindset.
● Thick skin — because hearing "no" is just part of getting to the next "yes".
● Knowledge of event venues or local authority bookings.
● A background in the performing arts or events.
● A genuine love of live events and making people smile!
What You'll Get
● Flexible working hours
● Full training on everything we do (including dinosaurs!).
● The chance to learn puppeteering and work at events for extra pay.
● A company work phone and contract.
● A genuinely friendly, supportive team.
● The opportunity to help grow one of the UK's most unique live entertainment companies.
