We are seeking an ambitious, strategic, and highly creative Head of Design & Technology (D&T) to lead a dynamic and well-resourced department at a successful secondary school located in the large borough of Ealing , West London. This is a pivotal leadership role for an experienced educator committed to driving practical skills, creativity, and academic success across all D&T disciplines within the Outer London pay zone.

Key Responsibilities & Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional teacher and academic leader with a degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related field , holding QTS , and possessing a proven track record of successful departmental leadership in a secondary school environment.
As Head of D&T, you will be expected to:
- Strategic Vision: Develop and implement an inspiring vision for the D&T curriculum, overseeing delivery from KS3 through to GCSE and A-Level (or equivalent vocational courses).
- Team Leadership: Effectively lead, mentor, and performance-manage the D&T teachers and technicians, fostering a highly collaborative and innovative departmental culture.
- Curriculum & Attainment: Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of all D&T specialisms (e.g., Resistant Materials, Product Design), ensuring outstanding student outcomes and strong examination results.
- Resource & Safety: Manage the departmental budget efficiently, secure new equipment, and ensure strict adherence to all Health and Safety regulations (including machinery and workshop protocols) at all times.
