My client are seeking an experienced, pragmatic and commercially focused HR Manager to join a dynamic HR team within a fast-paced consultancy environment on a 12 month FTC to cover maternity. This is a key generalist role, supporting both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day operations.

You'll play a crucial role in delivering the People Plan, leading on employee relations, people data, and compliance, while supporting their inclusive, people-first culture. You'll also manage one direct report and be supported by a HR Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on employee relations (performance, absence, disciplinaries, grievances, sickness)
• Support and coach line managers on performance management and flexible working
• Collaborate with Finance and leadership on compensation and benefits planning
• Manage broker relationships and lead annual benefits review
• Drive projects aligned to the People Plan, such as capability mapping and succession planning
• Maintain and update HR policies in line with employment law and best practice
• Oversee monthly payroll input and submissions with payroll provider
• Lead on DE&I initiatives, including Blueprint allyship and inclusion data reporting
• Deliver employee surveys and support wellbeing and engagement initiatives
• Produce regular people data reports for senior leadership (e.g. gender pay gap, KPIs)
• Support onboarding and oversee early careers programmes (interns, trainees, apprentices)
• Chair junior-level promotion and performance review meetings

Skills & Experience Required

• Available immediately or on short notice
• CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent HR qualification)
• Strong generalist HR background in a fast-paced environment (e.g. SME, agency, consultancy)
• Solid understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practices
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working independently and handling sensitive HR matters with professionalism
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience with HR data analysis and reporting
• Proven ability to lead and deliver HR projects
