Quantity Surveyor (MEP) - All Levels
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Data Centres, MEP & CSA) Location: London Salary: Competitive, based on experience About the Company: They are a leading construction consultancy, recognised for their expertise in delivering large-scale, high-tech data centre projects across the UK and Europe. They are looking for a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team, focusing on data centre projects in London, with a strong background in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and CSA (Civil, Structural, and Architectural) works. Role Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the commercial management of data centre projects, ensuring that they are delivered within budget while maintaining quality and compliance. You will manage costs related to both MEP and CSA packages, ensuring value for money and working closely with project teams to deliver successful outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging projects in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the construction industry. Key Responsibilities: Manage the commercial aspects of large-scale data centre construction projects, with a focus on MEP and CSA disciplines. Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and procurement strategies for data centre projects. Conduct detailed analysis of project costs and manage budget tracking throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor and manage variations, change orders, and claims, ensuring that all adjustments are properly documented and accounted for. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure that all work is delivered to the required specifications and quality standards. Lead contract negotiations and manage the administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations. Provide regular financial updates and reports to senior management, highlighting risks and opportunities. Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and other compliance standards throughout the project lifecycle. Requirements: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with specific expertise in data centre projects. Knowledge and experience with MEP and CSA packages. Excellent cost management and budgeting skills, with a track record of delivering projects within budget. Strong understanding of commercial contracts (NEC/JCT)and the ability to manage contract administration, variations, and claims. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and contractors. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional membership of RICS or equivalent would be advantageous.
