English Teacher (ECT) – Creative and inclusive secondary school – Hackney
A thriving comprehensive school in Hackney is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career English Teacher to join its vibrant English department from January 2026. This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a motivated ECT.

The role involves teaching English Literature and Language at KS3 and KS4. The department has a strong emphasis on creative writing and reading for pleasure. ECTs are supported through team planning, a tailored induction programme, and access to whole-school CPD. Opportunities exist to run enrichment clubs and lead student writing competitions.
Experience and Qualifications
- PGCE or equivalent with QTS in English
- Experience teaching English at KS3/KS4
- A passion for literature, literacy and student growth
- Legal right to work in the UK
