Civil Water Engineer
Hours - 37.5 per week
Hybrid Working
A leading global engineering and project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Civil Water Engineer to join its multidisciplinary design team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to the delivery of complex infrastructure programmes while working within a collaborative and technically focused environment.
The successful candidate will join a high performing engineering team responsible for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across a range of major infrastructure projects. The role offers strong opportunities for professional development while contributing to technically challenging programmes within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate or manage a team of Civil Water Engineers delivering technical design work on complex multidisciplinary projects
- Deliver high quality engineering solutions across areas such as hydraulics, wastewater and clean water infrastructure, water reuse and pipeline design
- Produce and review technical deliverables including design reports, calculations, drawings and scopes of work
- Provide technical input into project design and support project teams in managing programme timelines and budgets
- Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines and wider project teams to deliver integrated design solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting capability development within the team
- Work independently where required, applying sound engineering judgement to solve complex technical challenges
- Contribute technical expertise to bid and proposal submissions
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes, including checking and reviewing both personal and team deliverables
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience coordinating or managing civil water engineering design delivery within a consultancy environment
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams across complex infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including collaboration with contractors and delivery teams
- Practical experience in risk management, design coordination and quality assurance processes
- Strong knowledge of current engineering standards, codes and best practice within water infrastructure design
- Ability to work independently and apply engineering judgement to technical challenges
- Demonstrated experience within the water sector
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive, collaborative and motivated approach to delivering high quality engineering outcomes
